This Saturday, youth bands will be throwing down their best tracks at Rock the Rink for a chance to play a set at Rock the Shores, and win other great prizes from The Zone 91-3. A panel of celebrity judges will crown the winner.
The lineup for Rock the Rink is as follows:
Tuesday’s Roadkill (7:15pm-7:30pm)
Tuesday’s Roadkill started playing together about two years ago, and ever since have been covering rock, pop, and alternative music from multiple generations.
Fairfield met online through a UsedVic ad in search of band mates. The four piece have only been playing together for a month, but have already written and rehearsed an original track.
Sugar Castle (8:15pm-8:30pm)
A three-piece punk band from Vancouver Island, Sugar Castle is in the process of releasing an EP sometime in June.
The Colts (9:30pm – 9:45pm)
The Colts are a rock band, with a wide variety of styles and influences ranging from the 60s to today. Both their originals and covers show a diversity born of true music lovers.
The Porter Brothers (10:00pm-10:15pm)
The Porter Brothers are three music loving, dairy farming brothers who are having the time of their lives growing up on the farm, writing their own music in the family garage.
Come support the young local artists and enjoy some great live music. The event will take place at Westshore Parks and Recreation, is open to all ages, and doors open at 6:30.
